Catechism Education Opening Ceremony – Year 2026-27
The Catechism Education Opening Ceremony for the year 2026 was held on 14th June 2026 at St. Lawrence Church, Moodubelle, marking the beginning of a new academic year of faith formation for the children of the parish.
The ceremony was organized under the guidance of Catechism Coordinator Mr. Joel D’Sa, with the support and cooperation of the Parish priest, catechists, parents and the parish community. The programme commenced with Holy Mass ,prayer, seeking God’s blessings upon all the students, catechists and families for the new Catechism year.
Catechism education plays an important role in helping children understand the teachings of Jesus Christ and grow in their faith. It is not merely about learning prayers and lessons, but about developing a personal relationship with God and putting Christian values into practice in everyday life.
During the opening ceremony,Parish Priest,Asst parish Priest,Dn Shawn Andrade,Pritesh Burton Dsa Vice Precisdent,Jyothi Dsouza Secretary PPC were availabe. Children were encouraged to attend Catechism classes regularly, participate actively in Holy Mass, respect their parents and elders, care for others and become joyful witnesses of Christ in their families, school and society.
The Catechists were also reminded of their valuable responsibility in guiding and nurturing the faith of the younger generation. Their dedication, patience and example play an important role in helping children grow spiritually and morally.
Parents were encouraged to actively support their children in their faith journey by creating a prayerful atmosphere at home and encouraging regular participation in the sacramental and spiritual life of the Church.
The ceremony concluded with prayers and blessings for a fruitful and grace-filled Catechism year. With renewed enthusiasm and commitment, the 2026 Catechism year at St. Lawrence Church, Moodubelle began as a journey of faith, knowledge, prayer and Christian values.
