The Society of St. Vincent de Paul celebrated the feast of its patron saint, St. Vincent de Paul, on 27 October 2026. The celebration began with the Holy Mass at 7:30 AM, followed by a gathering at the parish meeting hall.
The programme was held in the presence of the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. George D’Souza, and the Assistant Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Stephen Rodrigues. The gathering began with a prayer led by Fr. Stephen Rodrigues, followed by the Gospel reading by Leens D’Souza. The President, Gladys Rebello, warmly welcomed everyone by presenting roses.
The annual report for 2025–2026 was presented by Precilla Aranha, highlighting the charitable activities and dedicated service of the Society towards the poor and needy. The dignitaries on the dais included Fr. Stephen Rodrigues, Deacon Shawn Andrade, and Parish Vice President Mr. Pritish D’Sa.
Deacon Shawn Andrade extended his feast-day greetings and appreciated the Society’s noble service. Mr. Pritish D’Sa congratulated the members and offered his prayers and best wishes for their continued charitable works.
In his message, Fr. Stephen Rodrigues emphasised that the forthcoming jubilee celebration should be more than just an event; it should be a renewed commitment to serving those in need. Referring to Jesus sending His disciples out in pairs to serve the people, he encouraged the members to reach out, collect contributions, and extend assistance to the poor and needy. He congratulated the Society for its good work and wished the members a blessed feast. The members also discussed plans to celebrate the Society’s jubilee in the coming two years.
Brother Valerian Noronha proposed the vote of thanks, while Sister Jacintha D’Souza compered the programme. Members of the Society, their family members, and well-wishers attended the gathering.
The celebration concluded with a prayer, followed by refreshments arranged by the Society committee.
The feast was a meaningful occasion to honour St. Vincent de Paul and renew the Society’s commitment to compassion, charity, and selfless service to the poor and needy.
